Do You Have A Construction Project We Can Help With?

The R.E. Tucker Story

R.E. TUCKER, INC was established in 1967 by Ronald Edward and Ann Tucker with one Mack truck. Ron’s first job was in Randolph, Vermont building Interstate 89. In 1969 as business increased, they purchased a second Mack truck, along with hiring their first employee, James “Buck” Spooner. Buck went on to support the company for 43 years.

Ron and Ann started a family in 1971. Their son, Ron Paul became an active member of the family business at a very young age and now owns the company.

In 1974, the company purchased its first rock crushing plant, an Austin Western 10/24 which the family company still uses today in its Berlin Quarry. Over time, the growth of the company took on many aspects, from trucking to mobile rock crushing from Derby Line to Nashua, NH. In 1985, the company purchased a wash plant which sizes and cleans both sand and stone. As demand for the product increased, additional/larger crushing equipment was purchased for production support not only in our own quarries, but in the expanding custom crushing market.

Additional employees became mandatory. Ron E. hired James H. Williams, who would continue with the company for thirty years. Since the age of seven, Ron P. worked side by side with his father, Bucky and Jim to learn about the business. Ron P. continued his education at UVM in Natural Resources/Geology to compliment the family business which he now manages full-time. .

In 2017, Ron and Ann celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary and the company’s 50th year in business. Ron E. retired in 2019, turning the business over to Ron P., and Ann retired and turned her office administrative duties over to Ron P.’s wife, Sherrie G. Tucker.

Sherrie takes an active role in all quarry operations from the office to excavator, and she helps Ron with the mobile crushing operation. They have become a team at home and in business.
